Nursery News Dear Parents and Carers, We hope you all have had a fantastic Christmas break and New Year! We would like to say a huge thank you for our lovely Christmas Cards & gifts; it’s very kind of you! A huge welcome to our new families starting in January, we can’t wait to get to know you all! Should you have any queries at all please do ask your child’s key person who you will meet and spend your pre-start settles with, the office of course, is also on hand via email or phone should you need anything at all.
Events Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund Please help us to make a difference by helping to raise money for Sophie. She is 6 years old and is been diagnosed with Cancer in her chest. Please make your donations in the labelled donation box in our reception area, where you can join the 50:50 Competition. All you have to do is choose any number square and place your name on it. Each square is £2 and the winner will be chosen by Monday 3rd February 2020. There will be also an upcoming cake bake sale £1 and face painting £2 each (all will contribute towards Sophies fund.
This month the children will be celebrating Chinese New Year – The Year of The Rat. On Friday 24th January 2020 the children will spend the day enjoying lots of arts and craft activities that will help them in learning about this culture. Feel free to dress your child in Chinese fancy garments!Chinese New Year

Our monthly theme for baby room will be based on ‘Winter’ Our babies will be exploring different visual flash cards And learning new single winter words. They will be painting snow, making winter sensory bins. Our tuff trays will be filled with different textures such as ice cubes, fake snow and scrunchy tissue papers! This will all help in their sensory development and their hand and physical development. This month they will also be cooking: Snow flake cookies, Snowman Fruit sticks and Rice Krispies Snow balls.Baby Room
Our monthly theme in our Toddler room is ‘Winter’. Our toddlers will be learning about the different animals that live cold environments. They will learn their names and be able to explore the different set activities with winter animals included. This will help them to learn through play by developing their imaginations with the use of props and creating their own animals using various art materials ie) Paper polar bears, painting snowy owls etc Our toddlers will be making footprints in the snow, exploring and feeling ice cubes in trays and learning new winter songs such as ‘I love you to the moon and back.’ They will be baking- Rice Krispies Snow Room, Cutting Vegetables, Vegetable Pizza and Mini Bread Rolls.Toddler Room
Our monthly theme in Preschool is based on ‘Winter’ The children will be helping to change their role play area into a Winter Igloo! They will be learning about different places in the world that are always cold and icy. In science they will be experimenting with ice cubes and seeing how it melts. The children will be encouraged to discuss what they see and draw it. They will have winter related home work given to them at the end of each week and should be returned to staff based in preschool the following week. Our Preschool children will be developing their mathematical skills through various counting games set through out the month such as counting cups and number penguins. They will be cooking vegetable pizzas and Rice Krispies Snowman’s.Pre School Room
Theatrebugs join us every Tuesday from 10am starting in our Baby Room, Toddlers and then Preschool. The children enjoy the different planned monthly themes which cover drama, music and dance. In addition to this they implement the three prime areas of the EYFS- Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication & Language Development which all help to build our children’s confidence, moving and handling, Social Interactions etc Shakers Kids joins us every Thursday Mornings from 9.30am starting in our baby room, toddlers and then Preschool. Shakers Kids aims to educate the children the importance of a healthy lifestyle, physical fitness and personal well-being. They bring fun music with high energy to encourage and involve the children to dance and exercise with energetic activities! Reminder: Now that the weather is getting colder, we advise that all parents make sure that their child arrives with appropriate clothing on, it’s important to provide warm hats, gloves and coats for the winter weather. Please can parents remember to label clothes and buggies with children’s names. This helps avoid confusion and loss of property. Please ensure that your pram is folded down and hung on the railing.
