At Monkey Puzzle West Kensington, we’re always reaching for the stars when it comes to making learning exciting and meaningful—and this week was no exception! Our theme was SPACE, and it took our little learners on an out-of-this-world adventure filled with music, movement, imagination, and even dress-up.

The children were absolutely fascinated as we journeyed through the solar system, learning all about planets, stars, and astronauts. Through stories, sensory play, and creative activities, we explored what life might be like in outer space. From pretending to float in zero gravity to identifying different planets, the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm shone brightly.

One of the highlights of the week was learning a brand new space-themed song, which quickly became a favourite. Their confidence grew with each verse, and it was amazing to see how music helped deepen their understanding of the topic.

And then came a stellar surprise! One of our wonderful parents brought in a real space suit for the children to try on. Seeing their faces light up as they stepped into the suit was a magical moment. It sparked even more imaginative play, with children pretending to zoom off in rockets, conduct moon missions, and explore distant galaxies.

This space-themed week wasn’t just fun, it supported learning across multiple areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including expressive arts, communication and language, physical development, and understanding the world.

A big thank you to our team for their creativity and to the supportive parent who helped bring our theme to life with such an exciting contribution. At Monkey Puzzle West Kensington, we believe learning should always feel like an adventure, and this week was truly one to remember!
